Molly Says Thank You

Saturday, July 1st, 2017

This is my second post for today! I know, right?!?!? Here’s the link to the first one. June Mood Board Card

I wanted to share a card I made for the Tiddly Inks Challenge called “Make it a Rectangle”.

I colored her up with Copics (colors listed below).

I just love all of the characters that Christy draws, but I seriously LOVE the Molly’s! Plus, I needed a thank you card for my friend Christina, who gave me my new little puppies!!!

This is from the first night we brought them home. The one on the left is a little boy named Sherlock. The one on the right is a little girl named Lady. They are so sweet and precious!

So, now you know where I have been this past week! Playing with chihuahua puppies!!!

Let’s Color – Unforgettable Elephants (VIDEO)

Wednesday, April 8th, 2015

Well, it’s been well over a month, hasn’t it? Almost 2 months! I didn’t fall off the face of the earth and didn’t decide to quit crafting. On February 7, I submitted papers to our housing office saying we’d like to transfer to a different house on post because Honey got orders to stay at this base after his school. I was told that, more than likely, it would be around May or June that we’d be able to move. On February 20th, I got a call saying we should have a new house by the end of the following week. I have NEVER heard of a transfer going through that fast. Needless to say, my house was being quickly packed in to boxes to move about 3 miles away. The new house is great, smaller, but great. It’s about 82 years newer than our previous house and we’re not above anyone. Only 1 of our walls is attached and that’s the one in the garage. So, it’s definitely quieter! Also, I get to have my craft room INSIDE the air conditioned part of the house! Usually, I’ll set up the rest of the house and then I’ll work on my craft room. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen pictures of me setting it up. My Honey told me to go on ahead and set up the craft room (had to make the house livable though first). He knows it’s my therapy and how I let off steam. So, I’ve been spending just under a month getting my craft room ready. It’s still not totally finished, but it’s VERY close and able to be worked in. Okay, so now that you know why I’ve been absent, I’m hoping with me having easier access to the craft room, I’m hoping to be able to be in here more frequently and hopefully have more posts and videos up for y’all.

I’ve been wanting to color up these cute elephants from Wplus9’s release a few months ago. There was a woman in the housing office who was really involved in getting us our house so quickly. I wanted to make her a thank you card and figured that this little set would be purr-fect. I also wanted to color up the elephant using the no lines coloring technique because a lot of y’all on Instagram have asked how I do it. I figured I’d set up the webcam and color him up. Then, I decided I’d try to explain what is going on in my head and why I’m doing certain things. Definitely not easy!

I chose to use this little elephant and did some masking so I could put the balloon in his trunk. The sentiment is what started it all.

I stamped him in Lulu Lavender Memento ink. If you look really closely, you can still see the purple line in some of the light areas. But it’s not too noticeable. If you’re interested in how I colored him up with the technique, I have a video down below.

In this close up, you can see the image a little clearer. After coloring up the balloon, I used my clear Wink of Stella pen and then went over it with glossy accents. To keep the paper from warping, I used a layer of 3M foam under the whole balloon.

For the layout of the card, I used the Sunshine Layers die set from Wplus9. The paper is from Pebbles’s Sunnyside 6×6 paper pad. The cardstock is Orange Peel from Simon Says Stamp.

For the inside, I wanted it to coordinate, but still have room to write, so I used the scalloped part from the Sunshine Layers dies again and cut it out of white cardstock. Then I stamped the words “Thank You” in Simon Says Stamp Orange Peel ink. The sentiment on the inside is from the Many Thanks stamp set from Mama Elephant.

Well, that’s it for my card today. I do hope you like it and I hope to see you again soon!
