Molly Says Thank You

Saturday, July 1st, 2017

This is my second post for today! I know, right?!?!? Here’s the link to the first one. June Mood Board Card

I wanted to share a card I made for the Tiddly Inks Challenge called “Make it a Rectangle”.

I colored her up with Copics (colors listed below).

I just love all of the characters that Christy draws, but I seriously LOVE the Molly’s! Plus, I needed a thank you card for my friend Christina, who gave me my new little puppies!!!

This is from the first night we brought them home. The one on the left is a little boy named Sherlock. The one on the right is a little girl named Lady. They are so sweet and precious!

So, now you know where I have been this past week! Playing with chihuahua puppies!!!

Easel-y semi sweet!

Thursday, June 4th, 2015

Today’s card is a birthday card that I made with a little friend of mine in mind. Her birthday isn’t until January though. It all started with the stamp from Tiddly Inks, and then I saw that purple paper.

This little girl is called “semi Sweet” by Tiddly Inks. I just LOVE her! I figure it would be perfect for a little girl who is trying to figure out who she is.

I used the print and cut feature on my silhouette to leave a small white border around her. How did I ever craft without that thing? The papers are from 3 different Doodlebug Halloween 6×6 paper pads. Each piece was matted with a 1/16″ border so it was easier on the eye to transition from one pattern to another.

I just love how this came out!

For coloring the girl, I tried some new styles of coloring. I wanted the cupcake frosting to look shiny and I feel like it does.

For the “inside”, I needed something to make the card an easel card. Christy always adds extras into her digital stamp sets. So, I printed, cut, and colored one of the extra skulls. I added this with a double layer of glue dots so it would actually catch and hold the front of the card. For the sentiments, I wanted something that I’d say to a preteen girl, so I used this stamp I got from an online craft sale on Facebook. I believe it is by Unity Stamps. The next sentiment is from WPlus9. Can’t have a birthday card without it saying “Happy Birthday” somewhere. I embossed these using white embossing powder for that contrast against the black.

That’s it for my card today. I really do love how it came out. It is going to need a custom envelope though. It’s 3.5″x6″. Hope you like it! I’d like to enter it into the Tiddly InksTake it Easel-y” challenge. Thanks, guys!

I’ve got a Sweet Tooth!

Monday, April 20th, 2015

I’ve got another card for you! I wanted to just color and some of my favorite images for this are Tiddly Inks images! I use to be on their design team. They’re currently having a Design Team call right now too! There are more details on the Tiddly Inks Blog. I’m not going to try out for it because for one, I’ve already had the pleasure of being one of Christy’s Tiddly Inkers. 2? I don’t know what I’m going to be doing crafty each day or how I’ll be feeling. One day I’ll feel like doing a Tiddly Inks image and another I’ll feel like doing a LOTV image. I never know. I create my best when I don’t force myself. Okay, enough of that…

Today, I used a digital stamp called “Let Us Eat Cake”. It’s from the Sweet Tooth line. I’m not a girly girl by any means, but this image SCREAMED girly! So, I had to go overboard with rhinestones and shimmer. 🙂 Advanced Apology: Sorry about the photo quality! I’m still trying to find the best photo spot in my new craft room. This one is apparently NOT it!

The paper I used is from Pebbles Garden Party 6×6 paper pack. Feels a lot like springtime!

To color her up, I used my copics. I feel like I’m getting really close to that “A-ha!” moment for coloring hair. Almost, but not quite. The colors I used are listed below the post.

Here’s a close up of the coloring. I’m not a “pink” person, by any means, but I LOVE how she came out! If I were to color her again, there are a few things I’d want to try. I just so happen to have an extra of her printed out and ready to go, so I may just have to turn on the video camera while I do.

You can’t see it in the photo really well, but I covered her shoes, tiara, dress, and candle flames in Wink of Stella. I can see how this is addicting! For the candle flames, I also put yellow stickles.

I used a MFT sketch to help me design the card. Y’all know it’s the hardest part for me. For this one I used MFTWSC67. I altered it heavily.

I wanted to keep the inside plain and simple. This sentiment is perfect for this!
