Wedding Bells are Ringing!

As y’all know, I’ve been making an assortment of Christmas cards. Well, with both my husband and I being procrastinators and absent minded, I had totally forgotten that I hadn’t made my sister-in-law’s card for her wedding. I knew I had to get to work because I had less than a day (I don’t expect much from myself, huh? 😛 ) and I also had to pack and get my family ready to leave for NC on Friday by 5pm. I was really proud of myself that 4pm rolled around, I was packed, the card was made, the car was loaded, and I was waiting on my husband to get home from work. This is a VERY RARE occurance in this house.

Okay, onto the card!

I LOVE using Valentine’s Day (my favorite holiday so I collect EVERY Valentine’s Day or love themed 6×6 paper pad I can find.) paper pads for weddings. This card was no exception and gave me a reason to pull out one of my favorite paper pads to use. My SIL is really stylish and modern, so I knew I didn’t want to do a girly card. I wanted a little more of a modern look and grabbed my “Head Over Heels” pad. This pad isn’t just red, pink, and hearts. It had that really pretty script and the gray damask print.

The stamp I used is from The Greeting Farm. I printed it out and then cut it out using my Silhouette. Totally called it too… My SIL had her hair down just like the stamp. 🙂 No roses in her hair, but she was carrying red roses. 🙂 I printed and cut out a few of these so that I could color some more. It’s great practice for coloring white & black. 🙂 Oh, and the HAIR!!! Gotta love that Greeting Farm hair!

From the start I knew I wanted to use black and white with pops of red. Come to find out, the color of my SIL’s wedding was black and red. For the little pops of red, I used Simon Says Stamp School House Red cardstock. I just love how it came out. I added the image using foam squares to give it a little boost.

I used my Bow-It-All to make a triple bow out of some thin silk ribbon I colored with my copics. Instead of having to have all these different colors of silk ribbons, I just have a roll of white and color it with my copics to match. I decided to add a red rose to the center of the bow. I didn’t want to put a sentiment on the front as I felt that would take away from the simplicity.

For the inside, I wanted to have it be simple. I decided to use a sweet sentiment from a Paper Smooches sentiment set and add a little pop of color by making a dimensional die cut using a die set from Mama Elephant.

I have to show a picture of the beautiful bride & her groom. 🙂
