Let’s Color! Starry Bunny baby card (VIDEO)
Saturday, May 9th, 2015Hey, y’all! I’ve been teasing those of you on my Instagram with this little bunny. I actually did video coloring her up too! But, then I had school volunteer work take over for a bit… Well, needless to say, I’ve finished the card! It’s already been given, and they loved it! It’s for our next door neighbors that I have met once. LOL!
For this card, I used LOTV’s Starry Bunny. Now, this is the first time I’ve EVER colored fur and liked it when I was finished! So, this was new for me too! I used the Doodlebug Sugar & Spice 6×6 paper pad for the papers. I think it turned out SO cute! For the layout, I tweaked a MFT sketch. MFTWSC103. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s “Hello, Baby!” stamp set.

This is not a “popular” stamp, but I LOVE LOTV stamps, and this is perfect for a baby card. There’s another in the series that is a bear. I think I’m going to have to color him to soon… People keep having babies around me! |
For the stamped image, I actually did second generation stamping to get the outline. I love the color of the brown ink, but it was just too intense when I first stamped it. There are actually little stars in the stamp, but I wanted them to be more rounded and the Mama Elephant Lots of Stars die, Embellished Tag die, and Confetti die all had the perfect sized stars. You can only tell they’re not the normal shape if you look really closely. That’s how close the sizes were. I decided the little dots mixed in with the stars should be pearls, but I didn’t like how my flat back pearls looked, so I used my Pearl Pen to make some. Not the best, but I’ll keep practicing and I’ll get there.

To make the texture in the fur, I did something my friend Lou taught me. She always does the most amazing fur and one day she said to just scribble. Why yes, it is just that easy! Thank you, Lou! Okay, well I went too dark with mine (problems of a heavy handed colorer), so I also used a rag with colorless blender on it to dab some more texture. I LOVE it! I go over more of what I did in the video below. |
For the inside, I wanted a really cute saying. The left side has the baby’s stats and the right side was the spot for the greeting and signatures.

All I did was search “Baby Girl Card” in the Swagbucks search engine. You’ll get a LOT of ideas with that! |
That’s it for my card! If you have any questions, you can always comment below and I’ll answer them.
