Harvest Wishes Halloween Duo

Friday, September 8th, 2017

This is my second post for today. To see my previous post using the new CDD Happy Camper set, click here.

For the September Release, the divas are showcasing two new stamp sets today. This set is called Harvest Wishes & it’s another favorite for this release. Now, I don’t normally make Halloween cards, but when I saw these two mice, I HAD to!

To make these cute shaped cards, I used the CDD Stitched in Circles dies. I only added a couple other circle dies to make the layers. I cut the little wreath from that set using glitter paper. For a finishing touch, I did add Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen to the bows and the colored circle on both cards.

I colored up these little cuties to match the Ghouls & Goodies 6×6 paper pad from Doodlebug.

Thank you for joining us for the September Release. Come back and visit me as I have 3 more cards from this release to share with you!

Campfires & Marshmallows – CDD Release Day 3

Friday, September 8th, 2017

Welcome back! It’s now Day 3 of the September Release for Craftin’ Desert Divas! Today, the divas are showcasing 2 more stamp sets! So, I’m showing “Happy Camper” in this post, but check back later for my second post using “Harvest Wishes”.

For my card, I wanted to make a little box card scene. A friend recently told me that she LOVES the box card die because, yeah they’re super easy to make without one & there are tons of Silhouette files for them, but the die makes it so much more convenient! I totally agree! I’ve never made so many box cards! And it’s because the die takes a LOT of work out of it!

Okay, so in my head, the three up front are having a bonfire and Big Foot has snuck into the tent and fixed himself a marshmallow and is peeking out, hoping they’ll let him join. I think they will. In my head they’re all sweethearts!

To make my scene, I’ve used the Box Card die along with the Outdoor Landscape 2 die set and the new Fall Border die set. To make the sides fit in, I’ve added a lantern and a sleeping bag.

I hope this inspired you to make your own little scene come to life! Remember, the September release will be in the shop TODAY at 1500 EST.

Timber!

Wednesday, September 6th, 2017

Hey, y’all! It’s release week again at Craftin’ Desert Divas! Today, we’re releasing Timber & Fall Border dies. This IS my favorite set from this release! I just L-O-V-E, double puffy heart, it!

I colored up my images using Copics (listed below). I love how these came out! I wanted this to be a shaker card at first, but then I was afraid the sequins would take away from the scene! For the background, I sprayed a lightened coat of B52 with my airbrush system. Then I die cut the tree line from the new “Fall Border” dies out of kraft cardstock.
I did a super simple dotting technique to get my texture on the trees. I made sure to go under my images with a dark shade that I used for my ground to make a shadow for my images. This way they don’t look like they’re floating in space.

These little guys are my two favorite images from this set. I just love how cute they are!

To stack my scene, I cut out 5 of the middle rectangle frame from the Inside Scalloped Rectangles die set. I adhered the ground part of the tree line to the base of the card, but mounted the tree tops up on a small piece of foam tape to give it dimension. The two little critters were just adhered using Multi Medium in Matte.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to grab this set in the release when it becomes available on September 8 at 1500 EST. Mark your calendars!
