Written on Saturday, July 1st, 2017

I’m kicking off a new month with Craftin’ Desert Divas by playing along with the new mood board! To play along, just use CDD products with the mood board inspiration, and then share it on social media. Be sure to tag Craftin’ Desert Divas with #cddmonthly for a chance to win! More information is available in the Craftin’ Desert Divas Gallery Facebook Group.

Also, before I get to the card, CDD is having a Guest Design Team call! The deadline is July 7, 2017! You can find out more information about it here! I’d love to work with you!

For me, one of the highlights of the summer is the 4th of July parade! So, I made one with my card!

I was going to make a long card, but 9 inches wasn’t long enough for my scene, so I opted for an accordion fold card that gives me 11 inches! Plus it gives a little surprise from showing just the elephant and bear while it’s closed. Tara recently released these cute 4th of July digis (linked in the supplies section) in the CDD shop and I HAD to have them! I mean, come on! They’re adorable!!! Making the card and scene was SUPER easy!!! To make my background, I used the Distress Oxide inks in Broken China and Peeled Paint. I then used white pigment ink with a dauber to make my clouds. I also used the fence and grass dies from the Outdoor Landscape 2 Dies. For the sidewalk and road, I just used a ruler to draw some lines and then colored in with my Copic markers.

I used Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew for the balloon!
